Revolt of Colour – Exhibition Opening

July 10 @ 17:00 - July 27 @ 19:00 BST
Free

As part of the exhibition “intersectional – REVOLT OF COLOUR”, Jakob Margit Wirth presents the video performance Cutout. 1km Patriarchy. The work investigates the paradox of masculinity within heteronormative systems by dragging 200kg of stones over one kilometer through Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm, assuming and shedding gender-coded markers along the way. The piece confronts the structural weight of patriarchy—performed, internalized, and passed on. Installed among 50 works by international LGBTQI+ artists, the film becomes part of a broader collective revolt against normative violence. The exhibition, curated by prideART Berlin, takes place in a former prison, transforming a site of control into one of queer resistance, care, and artistic speculation. Cutout. 1km Patriarchy is presented as a video installation accompanied by selected materials from the performance. Admission is free; access is restricted to visitors 18 and older.
