On Parasiting

On Parasiting (2026–2027) is an international, process-based artistic and curatorial research project developed by Jakob Margit Wirth and Matilde Outeiro. The project investigates parasitic tactics as artistic methods of infiltration, immersion, and resistance within hegemonic systems.
Rooted in Jakob-Margit’s ongoing artistic research PhD on Parasite Art at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Matildes interest on subtle resistance, On Parasiting translates theoretical research into collective artistic fieldwork. The project begins in June-2026 with a public symposium (Parasite School – 14.-22.6.) at ZK/U that establishes the discursive framework, followed by a residency phase in which invited artists enter institutions, companies, or social systems undercover, working from within as a form of artistic research.
The processes culminate in a collective exhibition in spring 2027 (Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, presenting newly commissioned works developed from these embedded practices. Spanning Berlin and multiple international partner locations, On Parasiting forms a transnational infrastructure for exchange, experimentation, and parasitic artistic practice.
