Dachwerkstadt – Operation Himmelblick

For the third consecutive year, Operation Himmelblick and stadtgewitter e.V. activate the overlooked top floor of the CittiPoint parking garage in Berlin-Wedding. Under the title Dach-Werk-Stadt, the rooftop becomes a public, self-built infrastructure of encounter—free, open, and collaboratively shaped. Spanning July through September 2025, the site will host thematic weeks centering on making, urban transition, and artistic research into rooftop spaces. With open workshops, a collectively crafted sun sail, local artist residencies, discussions, and celebrations, the project challenges spatial norms and creates an urgently needed neighborhood commons. The space invites participation from all generations, regardless of background or expertise. What emerges is not an event but a temporal, communal infrastructure—between sky and Kiez. Dach-Werk-Stadt asserts: the right to the city includes the rooftops.
