Speculating on artistic and political interventions – film-screening and discussion about urban resistance

In the context of the spectacular SIGNA bankruptcy, this panel will discuss artistic, political and civic forms of urban resistance. Based on the intervention and moncumentary “Speculating on the Void” about an intervention in a vacant SIGNA building in Berlin, artists, activists and academics will talk about speculative vacancy, transformative strategies and collective appropriation. With contributions from  Jonas Jarass (Bündnis Freiraum), Jakob Margit Wirth (Parasite Estate) and Luise Willer (FU Berlin, tbc), we ask: What are we waiting for – and how can we begin to rethink the city?
