SUMMARY:Poetics of Resistance - Discussion & Reading Group
DESCRIPTION:How can art remain resistant when critique is continuously absorbed\, neutralized\, or suppressed? How can artistic action work politically besides the conventions of opposition? \nTalking Poetics of Resistance is a monthly reading and discussion group exploring artistic and theoretical positions situated between aesthetics and life. We focus on artistic languages that are rather metaphorical than didactic; subtle\, precise\, and humorous interventions that generate political resonance without collapsing into slogans. \nEach session brings together collective reading\, discussion\, and artistic work. We read key passages\, debate central arguments\, and relate them to concrete practices. Guiding questions accompany us: What makes a practice resistant? How does aesthetic or poetic form operate politically? Where can we locate the poetics of resistance today? \nTo join\, please write in advance to: talking@poetics-of-resistance.net

SUMMARY:Cyprus Residency - Stadtgewitter e.V.
DESCRIPTION:East of Nicosia\, the historic center of Cyprus\, which has been divided since the civil war of 1974\, lies Kaimakli\, a traditional neighborhood\, located along  the buffer zone. During the last two decades\, empty houses and low rents have attracted new inhabitants and has given rise to a mixed social structure composed of migrants\, young artists\, new and old residents.\nThe annual Pame Kaimakli Festival aims to bring together the community of Kaimakli and to connect local and international participants through art\, culture and social engagement. Our collective Stadtgewitter e.V. is excited to participate at this year’s edition.

SUMMARY:7. Berliner Herbstsalon - Intervention
DESCRIPTION:With the 7th Berliner Herbstsalon\, Shermin Langhoff opens her final season as artistic director of the Maxim Gorki Theatre\, bringing full circle a journey that began in 2013 with the very first edition of the Berliner Herbstsalon. Under the title ЯE:IMAGINE: THE RED HOUSE\, she brings together long-time collaborators and new voices to reflect on\, reframe\, and reimagine critical artistic practices\, struggles\, and forms of resistance from the past years in light of the present and the future. \nThe Herbstsalon kicks off on October 2\, 2025 with an exhibition across several locations. On the main stage\, the festival opens with the world premiere of Ersan Mondtag’s production “The Red House”\, based on the stories of Turkish women who came to Berlin in the 1960s and 70s to start their new lives in Berlin. \nRunning until November 30\, 2025\, the Herbstsalon invites audiences to engage with art as political practice – rooted in history\, and reaching toward the future.

SUMMARY:Revolt of Colour - Exhibition Opening
DESCRIPTION:As part of the exhibition “intersectional – REVOLT OF COLOUR”\, Jakob Margit Wirth presents the video performance Cutout. 1km Patriarchy. The work investigates the paradox of masculinity within heteronormative systems by dragging 200kg of stones over one kilometer through Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm\, assuming and shedding gender-coded markers along the way. The piece confronts the structural weight of patriarchy—performed\, internalized\, and passed on. Installed among 50 works by international LGBTQI+ artists\, the film becomes part of a broader collective revolt against normative violence. The exhibition\, curated by prideART Berlin\, takes place in a former prison\, transforming a site of control into one of queer resistance\, care\, and artistic speculation. Cutout. 1km Patriarchy is presented as a video installation accompanied by selected materials from the performance. Admission is free; access is restricted to visitors 18 and older. \nExhibition details:📍 Kulturhaus Kesselhaus Lichterfelde (former prison)\, Berlin🗓 June 22 – July 7\, 2025🕒 Open daily\, 1–7 PM🎟 Free entrance \n

SUMMARY:London Conference in Critical Thought 2025
DESCRIPTION:Ephemeral resistance\, by its very nature\, evades capture\, leaving no permanent trace yet exerting significant symbolic and affective impact. This presentation explores the intersection of ephemeral resistance and parasitic strategies in contemporary art and activism. Drawing from Michel Serres’ concept of the parasite as both an intruder and a necessary disruptor\, I argue that parasitic interventions—those that infiltrate\, appropriate\, and temporarily occupy existing structures—exemplify forms of ephemeral resistance that reconfigure relations of power without seeking lasting institutionalization. \nParasitic resistance operates through moments of disruption: clandestine occupations\, unauthorized performances\, or camouflaged interventions that dissolve as quickly as they appear. These acts exploit the host system’s vulnerabilities\, transforming its infrastructures into sites of temporary counter-hegemonic practice. While the parasitic is often dismissed as opportunistic or unsustainable\, I propose that its transitory nature is its strength—offering a resistance that thrives in precarity\, eludes commodification\, and refuses assimilation. \nThrough case studies of my parasitic art interventions\, this talk examines how fleeting disruptions in public space\, institutional frameworks\, and digital networks can destabilize dominant narratives. By situating ephemeral resistance within the logic of the parasite\, I explore how subversive occupations\, tactical withdrawals\, and momentary gestures challenge hegemonic structures without relying on endurance or visibility. Ultimately\, this presentation asks: What forms of resistance emerge when permanence is no longer the goal\, but rather\, the act of infiltration itself?

SUMMARY:Eintrag: Margit - Film screening with moderated artist talk
DESCRIPTION:What significance does a name have for one’s identity? What consequences does a diverse gender entry have in everyday life? Entrag: Margit (27 min) is a performative examination of identity\, bureaucratic structures and the appropriation of institutional spaces. The starting point is Jakob Wirth’s attempt to adopt his godmother’s name as his middle name – a seemingly administrative act that is deeply rooted in questions of self-determination\, belonging and social recognition. During a four-day stay at the Reinickendorf town hall\, the building is not only explored through the bureaucratic process\, but increasingly appropriated by Wirth – a parallel to the personal appropriation of names. The growing familiarity with the rooms\, the people and the routines transforms the town hall from a purely administrative instance into a negotiating space for identity and society. The resulting film shows how identity is formed not only in documents\, but also in lived spaces and experiences. \nScreening with artist talk with Jakob Margit Wirth and Vincent Jondeau – moderated by Ulrike Mönnig. \nVenue: ACC Galerie Weimar\, GER. \nCollaboration between ACC Weimar and Klassik Stiftung Weimar. The Project was realized with support of the Bauhaus Fellowship and supported by the Fachbereich Kultur Berlin Reinickendorf. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Exhibition Bernau
DESCRIPTION:Networks play a decisive role in all areas of our lives. Hardly anything remains unconnected – whether digitally\, spatially or socially – and nothing exists independently of networks of creation\, exchange and impact. Against this background\, an exhibition on the annual theme “Bernau verNETZt” entitled ‘Visible Networks’ has been created in cooperation with Marina Resende\, which will open at Galerie Bernau on April 11 and will be on display there until May 24. \nTogether with the AI agent Bernd\, we go on a journey through Bernau. Bernd becomes the perfect key to connect us with the networks. We connect with the town and at the same time\, with Bernd. And through our trust\, Bernd also connects with Bernau. But as each social\, cultural and physical network appears to you on an interface\, a much larger one grows in the shadows…
